Photo-reversible ligation of telecchelic macromonomers via photocycloadditions
The aim of my project is to develop robust materials based on molecular motifs that fuse and split in response to light. This requires a reversible formation and cleavage of covalent bonds that is induced by irradiation with light of a specific wavelength. To this end, I design and investigate molecules for light induced reactions such as photocycloadditions. The resulting so-called photo-switchable molecules will then be incorporated into larger building blocks, to enable photo-polymerization and depolymerization on demand. The ultimate aim is the creation of stimuli-responsive materials that can be recycled with light.
