Project
Sustainability Systems Assessment of the livMatS materials systems for enabling sustainability transitions towards a resource-efficient and resilient infrastructure
The goal of my project is to develop a new methodological framework for sustainability assessment that allows livMatS materials systems and their potential applications to be evaluated in a broader systems perspective. It aims to link the sustainability assessment of basic materials research and the development of demonstrators in livMatS with the ongoing sustainability transition processes (such as in the energy sector) and the concept of system building at the earliest possible stage.
The expected outcome is to provide concrete recommendations for optimizing the sustainability performance of the analyzed systems, e.g. in terms of their carbon footprint, the substitution of hazardous substances and their compatibility with a circular economy.
